SECURE partner, Leitrim County Council (LCC) worked with a number of communities in Leitrim to promote EU Energy Week in June 2018. Leitrim County Council, Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Leitrim and the North Leitrim Sustainable Energy Community group hosted an energy awareness afternoon.

The event was a combination of energy related exhibitors and some speakers in the area of energy efficiency and renewables for the home and business. Exhibitors included SEAI, Environment section of LCC, Irish Savers LED Lighting, Western Development Commission, Mc Cauley Wood Fuels, Warmer Home Scheme and Next Gen Power (solar panels).

With around forty attendees on the day, the focus of the event was to promote and create an understanding of the topic of energy efficiency and renewables to local businesses and homeowners in North Leitrim. Guest speaker Dr Orla Nic Suibhne from the Western Development Commission had some interesting case studies to share on the day.
