SECURE project kicks off

The SECURE project partners met together for the first time on 17th and 18th May 2016 in Joensuu (Finland).

Hosted by Karelia University of Applied Sciences, the event brought project partners together for the first time and introduced the regions to each other.

Topics discussed at the kick-off meeting included the project workplan, financial management, communications management, partner roles, responsibilities and contributions required from each partner.

A seminar, Towards Energy Efficient Northern Societies, took place on 18th May, which invited discussion, examined best practices and promoted transnational networking on a number of levels in the area of awareness raising and societal support.

The seminar was arranged in cooperation with the NPA GREBE (Generating Renewable Energy Business Enterprise) and Poveria biomassasta project.

Effective engagement with local communities is an integral part of the SECURE project. Therefore, this event was instrumental in equipping partners with practical strategies, verified techniques and transnational know-how to ensure a positive project outcome.
