Our project partner Leitrim County Council (Ireland) is organising an Energy Awareness Day. The Aim of the event is to help householders and business find information on saving money and reducing their energy usage by looking at examples from the various exhibitors, such as, Sustainable Energy Ireland, Warmer Homes Scheme, Irish Savers LED Lighting and LH Heating.
"We are delighted that the SECURE project is able to work with Mohill SEC to bring such an event into the community and help raise awareness of energy efficiency options and local businesses in this sector", says Nollaig Whyte, Project manager at Leitrim County Council and SECURE project partner.
According to Whyte, the SEAI provide some grant assistance to householders and businesses. Moreover, Mohill Credit Union will take part in the event so people can check out loans and finance for such improvements. As part of the overall awareness on energy efficiency, Electric bikes will be there and other energy efficient transport options. They will also have McCauley Wood Fuels and Western Forestry Co-op who are locally based businesses working in the renewable energy sector.
The event, open to all, is being run in conjunction with Mohill Sustainable Energy Community and the Local Enterprise Office which is part of Leitrim County council.
