The Environmental Showcase 2017 event is being organised by the Environmental Pillar of the Donegal Public Participation Network (PPN) which is a network of community and voluntary groups with an interest in environmental issues and will showcase the positive environmental actions that are being done around County Donegal on Saturday 14th October in the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny.
Well-known RTE presenter and environmentalist Duncan Stewart has been named as one of the guest speakers who will be attending the event. The other guest speaker is well-known ecologist Ralph Sheppard and author of the first ‘Biodiversity Species List for County Donegal’. “We are thrilled to have these two high-profile guest speakers attending our first Environmental Showcase” says Mary Clyde, Public Participation Network Facilitator.
She said, “their experience and expertise will add greatly to the showcase and will inspire and motivate those attending to continue the great work they are doing or to get more involved if they are just at the beginning of their journey. This showcase event is about highlighting some of the work being done by voluntary groups across the county and inspiring others to get involved. We want to promote the positive environmental actions that are being done, share ideas, find out what works and in some cases what doesn’t work and most importantly how we can continue to get more people involved in environmental initiatives in their own communities.”
When? Saturday, 14th October 2017, from 11am – 4pm.
Where? Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland.
