The final SECURE Steering Committee Meeting was hosted by Derry City and Strabane District Council in the Guildhall on Wednesday 13th March 2019.

In this meeting it was discussed for the last time the conclusions on building smarter energy communities, the transnational low-carbon services directory and how to implement transnational low-carbon actions. Each of the project partners presented the results and the community’s accomplishments of their region. The final step was talking about the final comments of the communication and dissemination performance of the project, and the NPA Communication requirements after closing it.

Study visits

SECURE partners had the opportunity to attended two site visits in Derry-Londonderry. The first one took place in Culmore Landfill gas fuelled power station, which was transformed into a park with the objective of promoting the area that is made up of woodland, grassland and shoreline habitats. The second visit was to the Irish Street Community Centre Solar PV, which is the largest photovoltaic solar panel project in Northern Ireland and where they showed the rechargeable Li-ion batteries (LIB) of 5 kW/h each.

After 3 years working on this project, we have reached the end, but we are pleased with our project results and with the exchange of experience between all the partners!
