Energy Awareness Day in Letterkenny

The LYIT Energy Team has organised the Energy Awareness Day, the first in a series of events aimed at increasing awareness and engagement around energy and sustainability issues in the wider community.

The event, open to the public, has included exhibits in the areas of sustainable technology and construction on the main concourse. Suppliers such as Mark Eire, Bell Lighting, CEF, CT Electrical and Heiton Buckley have exhibited low energy equipment and materials.

Apart from that, Public sector organisations such as OPW, SEAI, the Western Development Commission and ERNACT, through the SECURE project, have been present to provide information and advice.

Moreover, different guest lectures have taken place during the whole morning. The lectures have covered topics such as climate change, both in Ireland and worldwide, tips on how to save energy at home and in the workplace, details of LYIT and Donegal County Council Energy management programmes and information supporting renewable energy enterprise.
